Tips on playing "Against All Odds"

You start off in prison with a few papers asking you about your rights and your thoughts about the government and you can only answer yes or no. But be careful, because one wrong answer can cost you your life.

The second stage is when the police are searching for you. You are in your room and you need to pack your bag before the police barge through your door. You have limited time. You also have only limited space in your bag, so choose wisely.

Once you are out of your house, you need to make your way through the town, avoiding the police and their dogs. There will be people wanting to help you, but unfortunately you can't trust everyone.

If you reach the fourth stage and successfully get yourself out of town without getting caught, you have a choice of transport in order to leave the country: A plane, a boat, a truck, or traveling on foot. You can choose, but it won't be simple. There may be too many people wanting to go on a particular transport and you will need to choose either six of your family members to leave, or six friends, or six neighbors.

There will be problems on your way and you will need to quickly make up your mind on abandoning your water, blankets, or baggages containing personal objects of your past.

To get past the checkpoint to leave the country you will need to show your identity papers to be able to pass. Unfortunately you will need to make a tough decision on either abandoning one of your friends on the road since he doesn't have his papers, or take the risk of getting everyone arrested and keep him with you.

If you make it through all of these obstacles, you will have finished the game and you will be safe in your new country.

This game really put me in the position of a refugee. I had to take many hard decisions that I might regret or that could cost my life or the life of others.

"Against All Odds" is free and you can find it here.
